IIHS Recognizes 5 Audi Models as 2017 Top Safety Picks

IIHS awards span from Audi brand’s small sedans to large SUVs

Audi Silver Spring is pleased to report that a total of five Audi models have been recognized as an IIHS Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+. The 2017 Audi A4 earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating for the second year in a row when equipped with optional LED headlights with high beam assist (2.0T Prestige models only), as did the Audi Q5 with available adaptive cruise control and adaptive Xenon headlights (3.0T Prestige models only). The 2017 Audi A3, Audi Q7, and Audi A6 with available driver assistance package have each earned a Top Safety Pick rating. 

2017 IIHS Top Safety Pick ratings are based on good ratings in the moderate overlap front, small overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests and no less than an advanced rating for front crash prevention. The 2017 A3 and Q7 and the A6 equipped with the available driver assistance package received “good” ratings in all five crashworthiness tests. Standard Audi pre sense® front which provides forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking helped the A3 and Q7 earn their “superior” ratings in front crash prevention. Additionally, with standard Audi pre sense city, the A4 also earned a “superior” rating for front crash prevention.
