2018 Audi S4
Overview
The Audi S4 provides a smooth, precise driving experience for those that know what excellence looks like and have the experience to appreciate it. Although it shares a striking resemblance to the S5 Coupe, the S4 boasts a greater wheelbase, cargo capacity, and rear headroom and legroom.
Available in two trims, Premium Plus and Prestige, the base S4 starts at $51,400,* but even the “standard” S4 is anything but ordinary. A generous variety of standard features can be found in the S4, including a sunroof, a rearview camera, low-speed automatic braking, an intelligent key (for both doors and ignition), three-zone climate control, access to Apple Carplay™ and Android Auto™, and so much more.
Audi understands exactly what drivers are looking for in a luxury experience, which is why the S4 comes prepared to deliver the perfect combination of style and performance.
The Perfect Ride for…
Anyone searching for reliable exhilaration. That may seem a contradiction in terms, but the S4’s exquisite interior, its incredible engine, and its stylish curves never fail to satisfy. Whether it's chewing up the miles on the open highway or hugging the corners on winding back roads, drivers can count on the S4 to deliver nothing less than excellence.
Drive & Handling
The Audi S4 features an all-new engine for this year, one that’s referred to in-house as “EA839.” We call it “even better than ever” thanks to its delivering 21 more horsepower and 44 more lb-ft of torque than the previous S4’s 3.0-liter supercharged V6, (specifically, up to 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque).
Also receiving an upgrade for the 2018 model year is the S4’s automatic transmission. It now sports an eight-speed ZF torque-converter, one that offers a smooth torque-multiplication effect right from takeoff. (That automatic transmission also plays more nicely with the S4’s available advanced driver-assistance features, which are exciting.)
Add in a permanent all-wheel-drive system that slightly favors the rear of the vehicle, and the S4 delivers strong, smooth performance on the straight, in the curves, and everywhere in between.
Key Features
Audi virtual cockpit
This available 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster is the perfect way to safely and conveniently display data like optional navigation instructions, Google Earth™ and Google Street View™ images, audio and phone information, as well as a view any speed demon will love—one that brings the tachometer and speedometer front and center while adding a lap timer and boost gauge.
Audi pre sense® basic and city
A series of cameras and radar sensors create a suite of safety features that not only help to decrease the likelihood of a collision but help decrease its severity if one does occur. If a potential frontal collision is detected, for example, the system will alert the driver and increase braking force. If a collision is imminent, systems will close the sunroof and windows (if necessary), tension seat belts, move seats into safer positions, and more to improve occupant safety.
Bang & Olufsen® sound system with 3D sound
An optional sound system from Bang & Olufsen® can take driving the S4 from "incredible" to "unbelievable," thanks to a 19-speaker system capable of delivering 755 watts of exceptionally clear sound. Whether you listen to podcasts, the radio, or your favorite playlist as you drive, there’s no better way to experience it than through a Bang & Olufsen® sound system.
Alternative Options
The Audi S5 is a great option for those in the mood for a coupe version of the S4. It’s slightly wider and lower than the S4, but it displays the same sporty character (and it’s only heightened by its availability as a convertible). Those looking for a true monster on the road and the track might be interested in the TT RS, a gorgeous sports car that delivers all that you could ask for in terms of style and performance.
