Audi Silver Spring

2021 Audi TT Coupe

Overview

The Audi TT has been around for years. It’s a stunningly aggressive sports coupe with supercar looks and dream-like dynamics. Not to mention it’s stuffed to the gills with all the latest technology and features from one of Germany’s best manufacturers. The Audi TT stands alone in its segment and offers an incredible package for a more reasonable price than similar models from Jaguar and Porsche.

Design

In the past, the TT has been more sculpted and curved, but the sharper, more dramatic lines really convey the TT’s personality better. The best view of the TT is straight down the barrel. The massive obscured hexagon grille is menacing and imposing while the iconic LED running lights give the car an element of sly cunning and sophistication. It’s easy to tell why some folks call the TT the baby R8 when looking eye to eye with it. From its profile, the car’s shape is like nothing else on the road; at least nothing under $100,000. It’s got extremely exotic proportions which not only look amazing but lend to the adept handling of the car. Moving to the rear, the beautifully tapered roofline terminates at the taillights which echo the design of the menacing headlights. Moving down from there, we are met with dual exhaust conveying a feeling of sporty muscularity. If you want to dial up the muscle, you can option the S-Line package which adds additional flare around the body and a stunning diffuser between the exhaust ports. This 2021 Audi TT isn’t subtle, but that’s not the point.

Cabin

Stepping inside the 2021 Audi TT, we are met with one of the most modern and contemporary cabin designs out there, which matches the aggressive exterior design of the car. While modern, the cabin is entirely driver-oriented with no center infotainment screen. The TT can be optioned with Audi’s amazing Virtual Cockpit to give the driver complete control of vehicle settings as well as entertainment information without needing to do anything more than look down a couple of inches. Your climate control buttons are still located under your center air vents as you’d expect, but the craftsmanship that went into designing these switches is something of a marvel in itself. Now, this TT isn’t just a life-compromising sports coupe. It does have two rear seats and a hatchback-style opening trunk to maximize practicality.

Features

Audi was the first to the game with the integration of a fully digital gauge cluster. The Audi Virtual Cockpit revolutionized the industry. You’ll see almost every luxury manufacturer now offers a fully digital cluster, and even some down-market manufacturers have begun optioning digital gauges. It’s a stunningly beautiful look, but on top of that Audi is able to offer a completely unique and customizable experience. The cluster can show performance data, fuel economy, it can even make the entire cluster your navigation, so you can focus on the road ahead. The 2021 TT is the industry benchmark and for good reason. The TT, being a driver’s car, doesn’t offer a whole lot of fluff, but it does offer Apple CarPlay™ as well as Android Auto™ and a 680 watt Bang & Olufsen® sound system to crank when you’re getting dialed in on back roads.

Dynamics

With the exotic supercar styling of the TT, you would think the performance should match the look. You’d be absolutely right. The turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder engine pumps out 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. These aren’t R8 numbers, but think about how compact and light this car is and you quickly realize this TT is a quick and nimble little sportscar. Don’t believe me? I’ll see you at 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds. With a beautiful steering and suspension set up working in tandem with the compact size and shape of this car, the TT is able to whip around corners with the greatest of ease. The 2021 Audi TT is a driver’s car through and through.

Verdict

In a world of vanilla SUVs and pickup trucks, try injecting a little energy into your commute. The 2021 Audi TT is one of the last remaining no-compromises sports coupes It’s the last of a dying breed, but it’s still an apex predator. Starting under $49,800, reaching the top of the food chain is easier than you might think.*
