Overview

Audi owners who are considering making the leap from the Audi Q7 or Q8 to an all-electric vehicle need to look no further than the 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron. The Q8 e-tron's design is inviting in how conventional it appears, giving it an overall feel of a luxury vehicle. Its two electric motors boast all-wheel drive, delivering plenty of power with 402 horsepower. The Q8 e-tron comes in two body styles—the standard Q8 e-tron and its sportier, fastback Q8 e-tron Sportback. Both come with a battery pack that promises to improve on the range of the 2023 versions, making them much more competitive for their class.

Who's it for?

Audi enthusiasts who have been looking forward to an all-electric SUV, but were disappointed at the 2023 Audi e-tron's so-so range. Rest assured, the all-new 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron meets that concern with a larger battery pack—and more—for the 2024 version of this SUV. For those looking for an SUV that offers a safe ride as well, the 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron has received the highest Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

What's New for 2024?

Changes for 2024 start with the most obvious—a name change. For 2024, the e-tron and e-tron Sportback SUVs have been reimagined as the Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback, But despite the name change, the 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron will seem very familiar to fans of the Audi e-tron SUV. But while many things will seem familiar, one thing that is new is an improvement in range. Thanks to a new, larger 114-kWh battery pack, the 2024 models will answer 2023 complaints about not enough range, now 285 miles per charge with fast charging capability of 80% of full power in just 30 minutes. Other changes include a refreshed grille design, updated lighting elements, and new wheel designs.

Real World Performance

The Q8 e-tron has one electric motor located on its front axle with the other at the rear. Working together, they provide electronic all-wheel drive. However, the rear motor does the bulk of the work. Under normal driving conditions, the two motors combine to deliver 355 hp and 414 lb.-ft. of torque. Shifting briefly into Sport mode will up the game to 402 hp and 490 lb.-ft. of torque. Q8 e-tron is capable of going from 0 to 60 in about 5.2 seconds with the Sportback version. The Q8 e-tron is able to tow up to 4,000 lbs.
